Setting The Correct Thumbnail To Be Posted On Facebook - A Quick Fix

When a visitor shares your site on Facebook, Facebook automatically sets the best thumbnail, title and description for the posted link.

Title and description are mostly pulled out of your regular meta-tags, and are often correct.

The thumbnail… that can be a different story. When selecting the best image to add to the post, Facebook looks for images with certain dimensions. This automatically excludes backgrounds and icons, because they are either too large or too small – but this does not mean the selected image is not always the one you want for your post.
And since the displayed thumbnail is often very important for branding, you need to force an image in your status update. Doing this is very simple… if you know how!
